What I Did on My Summer Vacation, Pt 3

2009.07.03
After hanging out with the Janssen grandparents, our family went to stay for a couple of days at the family farm of Debby, one of my (Joanne's) college roommates, also in northern Minnesota. There we met Lucy, Kelyn's new friend. She was born almost exactly a month before Kelyn. Their first conversation went something like this:

K: Oh, you would like my water bottle? OK, I would be happy to share.

K: But, upon second thought, maybe I'll just take that back.

L: I don't think so. I will guard it with my life.

K: Fine. I'll just take this peanut butter jar. It's better than the water bottle anyway.

Hanging out with Mom.

The two little peewees playing near each other, since playing with each other isn't quite an option yet.

Lucy's dad, Dave, talking to Kelyn. I love how Lucy is looking on disapprovingly.

Lucy had this amazing surfing move, that left the rest of us in awe (or maybe bewilderment).

Granny Alice (Debby's mom) was there too. It was funny how the little ones just gravitated to her -- they knew a grandma when they saw one. (You may notice, however, that Kelyn doesn't look very happy here -- I think he didn't want his actual grandmas to get jealous. Grandma J and Grandma N, he does indeed love you more!) :)

While we were there, it was Arlyn's birthday. Debby and Alice made him a strawberry-rhubarb pie. Here's Debby multitasking -- slicing strawberries while watching Lucy.

Arlyn with his delicious birthday pie.

It was so good we had some the next morning for breakfast too.
